HEMSWORTH Ladies put in a below-par performance but still did enough to take a share of the spoils in their clash with Leeds-Bradford Republica.
Returning forward Laura Turner was the hero with two goals in a 2-2 draw.
Hemsworth made the brighter start and took a deserved lead after just seven minutes when Turner held off two defenders before producing a superb low finish.
But instead o
f going on to control the game, the goal seemed to spur Republica on as they upped their game to win the first ball and grab the equaliser minutes before the break.
The second half started as the first had ended, with Republica dominating.
And their domination was rewarded on the hour mark as they turned the game on its head by taking the lead after beating the Hemsworth offside trap.
The turnaround saw a more urgent Hemsworth side kick-off, with Dawn Whitehead and Paige Featherstone starting to control the midfield.
And there was still some superb football left in Hemsworth, with some neat one-touch football resulting in Turner bagging her second of the match and getting them back on level terms.
Hemsworth did their all to try and find a winner in the last 10 minutes.
But the Republica defence held on for a draw as Hemsworth created numerous chances without converting before the final whistle.
Lucy Dewrow impressed for Hemsworth to take the player-of-the-match honours.
