Kirkby in final

SOUTH Kirkby Social reached the final of the Carlsberg-Tetley Cricket KO Trophy after beating Mighty Ducks by eight wickets.
Ducks batted first and made 133-6, thanks to P Marks (17), Gary Mitchell (33), Wayne Noble (44no) and Scott Peart (10no).

Pick of the Kirkby bowlers was Mark Henfrey and W Taylor, who both took 1-5, along with Steve Lambert, who took 1-7.

The Social reply was orchestrated by Richard Hames, who carried his bat for an unbeaten 74, featuring in partnerships of 52 with Steve Lambert (29) for the first wicket and 59 with Mark Walker (17) for the second as they made 134-2 in 17 overs.

Taking the wickets were Gary Mitchell 1-8 and Tony Shotter 1-12.

Social will now meet either South Elmsall United Services or Crow’s Nest in the final at the Old Mill Ground next Monday, start 11am.
