THE Blues have secured a new shirt sponsor for their UniBond Premier League campaign in the form of Thorne Environmental Ltd.
Chairman Peter Bywater has been on the lookout for new sponsors for the 2008-09 campaign and will welcome a company close to the local community.
Part of the hugely successful Thorne Group of Companies, Thorne Environmental Ltd has been retained by English partnerships to help the transformation of the former Frickley Colliery site.
Thorne Environmental Ltd is directly responsible for the construction of the colliery redevelopment scheme which overlooks the Blues' Westfield Lane stadium.
Mr Bywater said: "It's great to see that not only the landscape of Frickley is changing for the better, but also that a key company involved in the regeneration is really supporting the local community and is proud to be associated with our 98-year-old club."
Frickley commercial manager Tom Grindel said: "The partnership is a testament to the hard work by all at Frickley Athletic and Thorne Environmental Ltd in progressing the club, Frickley Country Park and our community to the next level."
Thorne Environmental Ltd managing director Alex Mellor said: "At Thorne we take pride in what we do.
"The Frickley Colliery scheme will benefit thousands of people and, by associating ourselves with the largest football club in the area, we are proud to be supporting the community. We wish all the players, management and fans at Frickley Athletic FC a successful season in the UniBond Premier Division."
The new shirts are expected to be on sale at the club shop at the Westfield Lane stadium and at Sons And Daughters, in Barnsley Road, South Elmsall, this week.
