NOSTELL completed a league double over Horbury Bridge in Division 1 of the Leeds-West Riding League at the weekend.
Nostell were struggling at 20-2 before opener Jason Garrick (39) and James Rowett (15) shored up proceedings to take the score to 60 before Rowett fell.
Another partnership with Garrick and Steve Reynolds (18) then helped lay the platform for Lee
Hurst (50) to take the game from Bridge.
Conditions helped the Nostell bowlers to swing the ball and this had Bridge struggling at 43-3 before a heavy downpour.
Regular inroads from all the bowlers, including Scott Bishop (3-21) and Lee Hurst (2-34) gave Nostell a deserved 29 point victory.
The result tops off a fine week for Nostell, who eased to a six-wicket victory over Pollington to take the Hepworth Cup in its final year as the Leeds West Riding Cricket League’s primary cup.
Fine bowling from Nic Oram (2-12) and James Rowett (3-16) saw Pollington at 25-5 before the Nostell bowling attack skittled their opponents out for 96.
Oram and Richie Hardman took the score to 30 without loss. But a tumble of four wickets brought the score to 53 before Matthew Rowett (32no) and Jason Garrick (10no) brought the game under control as Nostell finished on 97-4 to claim victory with 10 overs to spare.
Nostell travel to Newton Hill this weekend.
