LOCAL youngsters enjoyed a family fun day at Fitzwilliam Country Park.
More than 20 children searched the park for a variety of plants and different colours using a special nature hunt map.

They also enjoyed a quiz and arts and crafts activities and each child was given a prize.

The event was organised by the Anglers Country Park.

Coun Ann Westmorland said: “Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The Anglers Country Park did an absolutely fantastic job. We had more than 20 children turn up and they were aged between around four and 13 years old. Some families were from outside the area as well.

“The children had a great time – they did a nature hunt and a quiz and they all got a little parcel to take home.

“A lot of people who came hadn’t been to the park before and they said they would definitely come back now they know how good it is.”
