Hey Mamma, bet all the lads are at the Miners this weekend!

The lads will be turning out in force this weekend at Hemsworth Miners Social Club to see hit all-girl act Hey Mamma when they take to the stage at the club.
All-girl acts are becoming popular again, perhaps gaining in popularity due to the recent chart success of acts like Girls Aloud.
At any rate, Hey Mamma are in the same kind of vein and I'm sure this trio of lovelies are never short of male attention when they perform at their many gigs in clubland.
Up-and-coming local singer Peter York will make a welcome appearance at The Farmers at Kinsley this weekend.
Peter's Saturday night gig is bound to be appreciated at this venue and will only add to the venue's growing reputation for entertainment.
Ryhill Liberal Club has a smashing weekend in prospect with that excellent singing star Amerez appearing on Saturday night.
The last time I had a look at this talented and tuneful lady she was appearing on a trade showcase event in the Wigan area. I was certainly impressed with her voice and it seems I'm not alone in my admiration.
On Sunday evening at Ryhill 'Lib' expect an evening chock-full of nostalgia when Simply H will be the man on stage. The real name of this popular Wakefied singer is Harry Clark, but his Simply H show is all about tunes of yesteryear and the rock 'n' roll era.
I know that Harry is doing very well and his agent Gordon Kellett tells me that the phone never stops ringing for his services.
In next week's Express I hope to include a report on Hemsworth duo The P45s, who are appearing at the Wakefield and Pontefract Concert Secretaries Federation showcase night at Drax Sports and Social Club, which was staged earlier this week.
I haven't seen the P45s since they went into a duo line-up and their agent, Harry Heywood, (AKA Harry Turnstyle) tells me that he is supplying all the acts for this show, as well as compering the show as well!
It all promises to be a fabulous evening out, but if you didn't make it along to what is the farthest flung outpost in our federation area, then I will be including a report right here in the Express.
