Charitable Kevin urges you to Bring Him Home

Hemsworth entertainer Kevin Kane has joined forces with Kinsley singer Chris Lafferty and producer and entertainer Jimmy Echo to release a new album of songs for charity.
Benefiting from the album, which is called Bring Him Home, will be the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service.
The album was recorded at Jimmy Echo's Barnsley studio and contains nine tracks, with Kevin and Chris performing a duet on a few.
Unfortunately Chris is not around to help promote the album due to his involvement with a well-known holiday entertainment company. He is now working in summer season in the Balearic Islands.
Kevin is busy spreading the word however and he has promised to send me a copy to listen to very soon.
I hear that the UK Starsearch 2006 talent competition will be starting up again at Beeches Club in Hemsworth later this month.
Club owner Jim Kenyon's Empress Leisure company, which owns The Beeches, are the main players behind the show and there are some huge cash prizes up for grabs.
Last year's winner was Ghanian-born singer Freddie Mensah, who I have seen entering many talent shows up and down the country.
I'm sure that, like last year, there will be many singers and entertainers thoughout the area and beyond who go along to try their hand on stage at this popular venue.
Last year's compere Kevin Kane has again been invited to officiate at this year's event. I popped in to one of the heats last year, but unfortunately was unable to make it along to the grand final due to a prior commitment. Hopefully Jim will let know the date of this year's final well in advance so that I can make it along and include a report right here in the Express.
South Elmsall singer Demmi was spotted by my spies at Albion wmc in Hemsworth performing a rare local solo gig .
Demmi normally sings as one half of a duo with her partner, singer Scott Howell. The duo are known as Double Dimension and Demmi is busy with that project, but I'm told that she also appears solo now and then.
The impressive all-male act Three were seen on stage at The Beeches only a couple of weeks ago. I worked with this act on the very last night of entertainment at the famous Dial House Club in Sheffield, which has sadly now closed its doors. The occasion was a charity show which featured comedian Billy Pearce and at which I was compere for the evening. I was very impressed by Three on that special evening, as was my informant, who was equally impressed at their show at The Beeches.
